Why convert HEIC to ICO?
HEIC is the default photo format on iPhones and iPads, so it appears whenever photos are AirDropped, emailed or copied to a PC. Windows, Android apps, websites and most upload forms cannot open it without conversion. Choose ICO for a website favicon or a Windows shortcut icon.
HEIC to ICO settings
Choose which icon sizes to embed. Non-square images are centred on a transparent square canvas. You can also cap the width and height, which resizes large photos in the same step.
Frequently asked questions
Will the ICO lose quality?
ICO is lossless, so the conversion keeps every pixel or sample that is in your HEIC file. It cannot bring back detail that HEIC compression already removed, and the ICO file will usually be larger.
