How to use the Image Resizer
- 1
Drop your images.
- 2
Pick a mode: pixels, percentage or a preset, and choose fit, cover or stretch.
- 3
Click Resize and download the results.
Fit, cover or stretch
Fit keeps the whole image inside the target size and pads the rest with a colour or transparency. Cover fills the target size completely and crops the overflow from the centre, which is ideal for thumbnails. Stretch forces the exact width and height and may distort the image.
High-quality downscaling
Large reductions are done in several halving steps with high-quality smoothing, which avoids the jagged, shimmering results of a single-step resize.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Images are decoded and processed by your browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, which also makes the tool fast for large batches.
Can I enlarge an image?
Yes, but enlarging cannot add detail that was not captured. Expect a softer result when upscaling more than about 150 percent.
