About Muhammad
Muhammad Afan is a software engineer who builds web applications with TypeScript, React and Node.js. He created DashUtils to make everyday file work private: every converter, compressor and editor on the site runs in your browser, so your files are never uploaded to a server.
He builds and maintains the tools himself, from the image and PDF engines to the FFmpeg-based video converter and the on-device background remover, and adds new developer tools as the site grows.
His guides follow one rule: test it before writing about it. When a guide quotes a file size, a conversion time or a quality score, it comes from a run he did with the tools on this site, using the files and settings described in the article.
